Newbury Speakers 10's Night - June 10th 2008
In an amazing evening Newbury Speakers celebrated four club members achieving their number 10 speeches:

  1. David Brinsdon (CC10) spoke about Animal Farm and then related this to the valour and courage of the service men and women serving overseas.
  2. Philip Gladwell (CC10) spoke about his journey in Toastmasters; from joining Toastmasters to being elected Club President, to running Speechcraft and Presenting at the UK and Ireland D71 Conference in Killarney. It was a speech about taking opportunities when they present themselves.
  3. Jenny Mills (ACS10) delivered a humerous speech with excellent anecdotes and impeccable timing, encouraging the audience to extend themselves.
  4. Tony Henderson-Newport (ACG10) presented a Roast (similar to a Best Man's Speech) where he set about roasting his good friend Phil Gladwell. Given that Phil's family was in the audience, it made for an entertaining presentation.

The room was filled with guests, and "bubbles" and "nibbles" were enjoyed by the audience who also took part in a rolling table topics session, ably managed by Toastmaster Glenn Hovey.

A HUGE congratulations to David, Phil, Jenny and Tony.
