The Gift of Growth by Tony Henderson-Newport
One of the great aspects of Toastmasters is the fact that every presentation is evaluated. This feedback is at the heart of improving the skills of every speaker. Every evaluation, therefore, is a very real gift to the speaker. Often the evaluation is couched in a model known as C–R–C (Commend, Recommend, Commend).
The Gift of Growth addresses the various aspects of detail that facilitate a powerful evaluation (or gift) for the speaker.
By using this Evaluation Guide you will learn:
| 1. |
What to look for when you are evaluating |
| 2. |
How to structure your evaluation |
| 3. |
How to use linear (list) or mind-mapping techniques to detail aspects of the evaluation |
| 4. |
That engaging or enrolling the speaker through feedback means being enthusiastic, encouraging and analytical |
| 5. |
That a Speech, Table Topic and General evaluations have subtle differences. |
